The Founders of the Festival – Ryan Heil, Todd English, Joe Hess

The Whitefish Food and Wine Festival is the brainchild of culinary visionary Chef Todd English, entertainment mogul Ryan Heil, and local entrepreneur Joe Hess. The wine and food event will highlight the very best of Whitefish’s culinary offerings while bringing together world-class talent from beyond the valley. Throughout the three-day event, attendees can participate in many unique experiences, including various curated events that celebrate both the local and global food scenes.

Festival Highlights

The festival’s centerpiece is the Grand Tasting sessions, which will take place at the picturesque Haskill Creek Farms. With its sweeping views of Whitefish Mountain Resort and Glacier National Park, this venue provides the perfect setting for an unforgettable culinary experience. Here, guests can sample a diverse array of wines from top wineries, craft beers, and spirits, with culinary experiences all paired with gourmet food from top chefs and local food purveyors.

In addition to the Grand Tastings, the festival will offer a variety of events themed to Whitefish, including wine pairings, sommelier-led tastings, and educational panels. For those looking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Whitefish, there are also outdoor activities such as the “Sip & SUP,” a stand-up paddle board excursion, and scenic hikes that conclude with gourmet picnics.

The Grand Tasting sessions unite wineries, brewers, and distilleries with local food purveyors, chefs, and supporting brands to create a memorable experience at scenic Haskill Creek Farms, with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. Each 2.5-hour session features live music, fun sponsor activities, and the elevated Todd English Food Experience, curated by 4x James Beard Award-winner Chef Todd English in partnership with top regional chefs. Three Grand Tasting Sessions will start on Friday from 4 pm to 6:30, Saturday from 12 pm to 2:30 pm, and Saturday from 4 pm to 6:30 pm. Tickets are $85

BARLEY & GRAPES: Montana Brewing Meets Oregon Winemaking – Friday September 13 at Blackstar Brewing – 6 pm to 9 pm

Barley & Grapes is where the best in Montana Craft Brewing meets the pinnacle of Oregon’s Willamette Valley Winemaking!  Hosted by Brewmaster Jeremiah Johnson and his namesake brewery, along with the team from the award-winning Cristom Vineyards, this tasting event will also feature a special Oregon-inspired culinary presentation by Blackstar Executive Chef Katie Haynes.  During the event, you will learn about craft brewing and Oregon’s unique terroir, grapes, and legendary winemaking traditions in the Willamette Valley while noshing on an amazing pairing menu to complement each wine and beer selection. PEAK PALATE: Where the Mountain meets the Vine – Saturday, September 14th – Hellroaring Saloon – 6pm to 9pm

Join the Festival for an extraordinary 7-course Alpine-inspired culinary adventure at the historic Hellroaring Saloon on Big Mountain, paired with seven 90+ rated wines produced from Chilean and Argentinian grapes grown exclusively at high altitudes.  Pairings courtesy of Geo Vino. VIVA ITALIA: An Italian Culinary Journey with Chef Todd English – Saturday September 14th at Abruzzo in Whitefish 6pm to 9pm

Buon appetito!  VIVA ITALIA is a multi-course journey through the tastes and terroir of Italy with world-renowned Chef Todd English in collaboration with Abruzzo Executive Chef Jeremy Grossman.  Enjoy a cocktail hour aperitif before you sit and dine on handmade Italian pastas and elegant dishes representing the finest Italian cooking traditions, all paired with an exclusive wine list from renowned importer Indigenous Selections, curated by Sommelier Fabio Longano and drawing from the vineyards of La Spinetta, Santa Barbara and Cocito. The Todd English Food Experience, a premium add-on, is expected to be one of the festival’s major highlights. This exclusive event experience will take place in a standalone tent, offering a highly elevated dining experience curated by Chef English himself.
